‘Extinct and Endangered Bird Skulls’

 The ‘No Moa’ Collection. Aotearoa, home of incredible bush and birdlife. The introduction of humans brought predators which caused many of these birds to disappear forever. Creatures that we hold so dear as a nation are in fact in many cases extinct or critically endangered. Is it enough to preserve them on our stamps, our currency, our identity? Now we can only remember them as something that was beautiful, which makes these pieces so precious. Just like in nature each skull is hand sculpted and unique.
