Wall hanging Kea Skull Sculpture

$280.00

The Kea, a native parrot of Aotearoa’s alpine regions. They were considered the kaitiaki (guardians) of the mountains for the Waitaha Māori during their search for pounamu. They symbolise curiosity, intelligence, and adaptability. Revered for their playful nature and problem-solving abilities, the Kea embodies a deep connection to the rugged landscapes it inhabits, reflecting resilience and a spirited exploration of its environment.

Just like in nature each skull is hand sculpted and unique created from sketches and studies of this beloved iconic New Zealand Bird. This sculpture has been designed to hang on the wall or can sit pretty on a shelf or ledge. The skulls are not created to scale for obvious reasons.
